My first memory of our country’s capital, Delhi, is of visiting National Zoological Park.
Mathur aunty use to live in our building that too on our floor. Mathur uncle use to work with my father, while aunty was a homemaker like my mother.
The sad part of their life was that they didn’t have children. They liked my brother but they loved me more. One summer evening she asked my parents whether she can take us to Delhi for a week. My parents were very apprehensive about it and told her that they will think about it. Meanwhile aunty divulged her plan to us and we got ready to accompany her.
My brother insisted my parents to let us go, so after much persistence, they gave in. Our bags were packed, mom gave a long list of dos and don’t s and we happily left our home to explore a new city.
The big black tiger with brown eyes staring right back at me. Seeing big lion called bababar sher( the toughest among the lion clan) roaming inside a big area which also had small lake for him. Big fox inside a room which had a small window for peeking visitors. The big rhinoceroses behind a big wall, for showing them my uncle had to pick me up on his shoulders. The lazy hippopotamus inside a marsh.
It is what all I can remember from my first visit to zoo in Delhi when I was four years old.
This all came flashing back when my four-year old nephew recently visited a zoological park in Mysore and came back with interesting stories for me. We discussed how all animals looked like , to the voices they were making , to the activities they were involved in. It was indeed great to go back down the memory lane, once again.
PS: Share your story of first zoological park visit or wild life century?
This my attempt for the Twenty-sixth day of the A-Z Challenge.
Day 26:Z(alphabet)

I finally made it over to your Z post! 😀 😛 I love going to the zoo it’s a lot of fun seeing the animals and it does make you feel like a kid again. Your stories have been a joy to read NJ ❤ You are so funny saying your aunty and uncle liked your brother but loved you more 😛 ❤ Sometimes I feel like my life is a zoo with everything going on in it but for the most part it's all good. 🙂 Great job on completing the challenge!!

LOL, Jen, I couldn’t help giggling when you said your life is a zoo XD It reminded me of this episode from the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Have you watched that sitcom? If not, it’s this hilarious (The hilarity similar to F.R.I.E.N.D.S in terms of the way each and every scene gets you rolling on the floor 😀 ) about these two mischievous twins, Zack and Cody, who live in a five star hotel with their single mother, and they love causing mayhem and driving the manager, Moseby, insane 😀 In one episode, they’ll bring up a baby hawk and Moseby will order them to give it away to the zoo. They retaliate saying, ‘If you love zoos so much, why don’t you go and live in one?’ And he responds, ‘I already am.’ XD

Haha, you’ll love this!! The Suite Life of Zack and Cody has a spin-off, The Suite Life on Deck, where the twins attend high school in a cruise ship! You’ll truly enjoy this, it and F.R.I.E.N.D.S are the most hilarious sitcoms to exist, I think 😀

I love F.R.I.E.N.D.S and The Big Bang Theory so I’m sure I’ll also love The Suite Life of Zack and Cody too!! 😀 High school on a cruise ship is crazy! Can you imagine? 😛

Oh God, it’s completely crazy! 😀 You’ll definitely enjoy it! The actors playing Zack and Cody are twin brothers in real life, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, and you know what? Cole Sprouse is the child playing Ross Geller’s son, Ben, in F.R.I.E.N.D.S 😉 He absolutely rocks as Cody here in the Suite Life ❤ The manager goes from one end to the other trying to keep the hotel and the cruise ship in one piece because of the mischief these two get into XD They also rope in the ditzy and dumb heiress to the hotel in their schemes and other hilarious characters too. It's a must watch!! I haven't seen the Big Bang Theory yet, Jen, everyone says its really good 😀 I should watch it after writing the book 😀

Hello! Peggy, I wanted to thank you personally for liking the post that Life of an El Paso Woman reblogged “Please Help Our Momma” – https://protomarq.wordpress.com/2016/05/02/helpourmomma – it means the world to me that you took the time to read about my struggling family as we cope with our mom fighting third stage colon cancer. I would like to humbly ask if you might consider making a contribution to the cancer relief crowd funding campaign we made for her. Any little bit makes a HUGE difference to us. If not, please at least reblog our “Please Help Our Momma” post or share on social media. Here’s a link to the campaign page: https://igg.me/at/Hz9-ILFN2P0 Thanks again for your time and consideration!

I still love going to the zoo.. back home in andamans we had a small tiny zoo and that was our only entertainment as kids watching few snakes monkeys deers and crocs.. i remember the first time i visited the zoo in Trivandrum it was amazing..i made sure i went there every summer vacation. I used to spend a lot of time watching specially the lion, peacock and giraffe.
I think a Zoo always makes us feel like a kid. Congratulations on completing the Challenge. As always your posts are so refreshing. Happy weekend 🙂
